Scarface honored, Diddy performs at taped BET Hip-Hop Awards

Just moments after being introduced by Ludacris to accept the I Am Hip-Hop Award at the taping of the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta, the 44-year-old rapper was arrested by authorities for failure to pay child support.

The 10th annual BET Hip-Hop Awards are getting ready for next week’s broadcast with a taping in Atlanta, and Drake is back as the top nominee for a second straight year.

“It’s definitely an honor”, Scarface said before the show. Scarface has since released 12 solo albums, including chart-toppers “The World is Yours”, “The Untouchable” and “My Homies”.

T.I., Fetty Wap and Sean “Diddy” Combs are expected to perform.

“He helped build a culture”, Rick Ross said of Scarface. After the show Julia Beverly and I were trying to find him to again congratulate him, but we never heard back. The Houston native is a member of the rap group Geto Boys. It will be recalled that Snoop Dogg also hosted the 2013 and 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards. He performed a few of his hits including “Where Ya At” and “March Madness”.

– There were several recorded freestyle sessions, including Eminem and Redman.

– There was a pre-taped performance from Future, taped Wednesday night at the Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta.
