Scheduled Bail Hearing Today For Marco Muzzo
Muzzo will appear again by video on November 26, at 10:30 a.m.
Muzzo appeared at the Thursday hearing briefly via video, where it was decided that court would reconvene later this month.
Neville-Lake said that while they have no control over what happens in the courtroom, she hopes something good can come from the death of her children.
Soon after, Muzzo was charged with 18 criminal counts, including impaired driving causing death.
Daniel, Harry and Millie Neville-Lake died, along with their grandfather, 65 year old Gary Neville after the September crash near Kleinburg.
Neville-Lake wore a yellow rose, representing the flowers that decorated her parents’ wedding. “What did we ever do to you?” she said, referring to Muzzo.
When asked about seeing Muzzo, Neville-Lake said she doesn’t really feel anger.
She said she’s also comforted from a necklace she wears daily, which contains the ashes of her children.
“Our lives were involved with our children”, she said.
Jennifer continued by explaining how she continues to draw strength from those around her and members of the public who recognize her out in public and have stuck with the family through thick and thin.
“Orange is quickly becoming our new favourite colour…” “We were handed a life sentence…it was like a sucker punch”.
“The children were cremated because I couldn’t bear to have them separated in separate graves”, she said.
A few of her other comments surrounded the efforts the couple has been making to recover a semblance of normality, including going to the grocery store and library.
“She’s able to get up, she’s able to move around, and actually we were able to bring her back to her home in King City just to sit in the driveway, just to see how it went”. “I’ve tried to attend to meetings of the beaver group I was a part of in Aurora, and it was really really hard”.
