Schmeichel signs 5-year contract at EPL champion Leicester

Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has signed a new five-year deal to keep him at the King Power Stadium until 2021.

The clash between Leicester City and Jose Mourinho-led United marks the traditional start of the England’s domestic season on Sunday at Wembley.

Leicester City have had dismal pre-season in the International Champions League drawn 1 and lost 2 of their matches.

“We’ve taken some massive steps and ever since I arrived it’s been fantastic”, Schmeichel told LCFC TV.

Interestingly, Claudio Ranieri used 23 players last season but there were only 19 cars. I always believe in myself and, if one man wants to do something, in the end he will achieve something.

Leicester, surprisingly, have been able to retain their title winners of last season, with the exception of N’Golo Kante who left for Chelsea a few weeks back.

Still, even though it’s common for Premier League footballers to own glamorous sports cars, it’s extremely rare to see so many players at once receive such prestigious cars.

Schmeichel, the son of former Manchester United and Denmark goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, joined Leicester from Leeds.

Ranieri says he has made it clear to his team that resting on their laurels will not be tolerated.

“The boys get on, we’ve got each other’s back and want to stay together which is why the boys commit themselves to the club long term”.
