Schneiderlin makes Man United move

United have signed Germany worldwide midfielder Schweinsteiger from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, while France global midfielder Schneiderlin has moved from Premier League rivals Southampton.

When asked if it was hard to leave Munich, he said: “Of course it’s not easy after a long relationship with the club but, in the end, I’m happy to be here”.

“But the chance to be part of this squad and to help this great club be successful was too good to miss”.

New Manchester United signing, Bastian Schweinsteiger has explained that Louis van Gaal wasn’t the main reason why he joined the Red Devils.

United confirmed the signing of the 30-year-old midfielder on a three-year deal on Monday. I have loved the time that I have spent at Torino and I would like to thank the club and the fans for everything they have done for me.

The double swoop was also boosted by the news that United goalkeeper David de Gea was included in the Old Trafford club’s tour of the United States, seemingly ruling out any imminent move to Real Madrid.

“Benfica and Manchester United are in negotiations over Gaitan and one offer includes Rafael to join Benfica“, Cassiano Pereira, Rafael’s agent, told Portuguese newspaper Record.

“Manchester United is a big club with a lot of tradition and it’s exactly what I wanted”, he added.

It is a deal that suits everyone involved and Schneiderlin now has the flawless platform to flourish alongside the likes of Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick at Old Trafford.

Schweinsteiger, who is set to earn €10 million a year from the Red Devils, and van Gaal are already familiar with each other as the Dutch manager had handled Bayern from 2009 to 2011.

After landing in Seattle, the 26-strong United squad left their hotel and undertook a light stretching session at the nearby training ground of NFL side Seattle Seahawks.

Van Gaal who is a huge admirer of the German also spoke on the transfer, admitting that he is “truly delighted” that he’s signed for United.
