Schwarzenegger swoops in for Kasich
A New England snowstorm that dropped several inches of snow across parts of New Hampshire Friday didn’t stop one Republican presidential candidate from making the best of the slippery weather.
The two-term governor is set to hold his 100th town hall event in the Granite State on Friday night and said that such events have “turned into a safe harbor for people, or a safe haven”.
The results of the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday are widely expected to prompt more Republicans to drop out of the crowded race to be the party’s 2016 presidential nominee, but Ohio Gov. John Kasich doesn’t plan to be in that group. “I’m sorry, I’m just not doing it”.
The actor donated $2,700 to Kasich’s campaign late a year ago and has appeared at fundraisers for the OH governor, though he has not officially endorsed him. Williams has a significant following on social media, but New Hampshire is won on street corners, diners, and other forms of retail politicking.
On Friday in an interview with MSNBC, the Ohio Governor said, “I think there’s too much greed on Wall Street”, in response to a question about Bernie Sander’s anti-Wall Street comments in Thursday’s Democratic debate.
An issue dear-to-my heart is care for our veterans, and I firmly believe John Kasich BY FAR the best choice to root out corruption at the VA and honor our most sacred national obligation – caring for those who fought for our freedom.
His strategy has centered on the importance New Hampshire voters place on personal interactions with candidates. Kasich on the other hand says that he is relaxed and resigned to whatever happens because he feels that he has worked hard and has no regrets about the type of campaign that he has run. “You can’t play catchup with an organization, you can’t play catchup with town halls”.
He also referenced the less successful “Jingle All the Way” but explained that Kasich has been so supportive to him that he even went to see that.
“I’d be the worst vice president anybody could ever imagine. Because I’m my own man”.
