Schweinsteiger ready to play regular role at United

Schweinsteiger made his debut as a substitute in the second half of United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Although Carrick says the new players have “all done really well”, he especially effusive in his praise for Schweinsteiger, despite potentially having to compete with the 31-year-old for a starting berth. “So he liked it and he let me play in that position at No 6, 8 and sometimes 10”.

And he will need to build on that improved display if the home side are to have any chance of ending a 12 match losing streak against United.
