Scott Allan hands in written transfer request
The 23-year-old midfielder told Hibs officials last week he wanted to depart the capital club and move to their Scottish Championship rivals.
“Hope Scott Allans whole family get cholera, malaria, typhoid, aids, herpes, anthrax, swine flu, leprosy and kidney failure”.
Hibs midfielder Scott Allan has handed in a transfer request, but the club have again insisted that the player will not be sold to Rangers.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen are rumoured to be preparing a £250,000 bid for the player, according to reports in the regional press.
Allan filed a transfer request after Rangers boss Mark Warburton said on Monday he was not sure if the Ibrox club would make a third approach for the 23-year-old.
In a statement, Hibs said: “In the face of continued media interest, Hibernian Football Club can confirm that Scott Allan has today handed in a written transfer request”.
It comes after the Easter Road side knocked back two bids from Allan’s boyhood heroes Rangers FC.
Whilst the Petrofac Cup is relatively low down the list of priorities for both clubs this season as they are set to battle it out for the Scottish Championship title and promotion, it was important to set down a marker for the season and gain a potential psychological advantage ahead of the league campaign. “The player will not be sold to Rangers”.
Hibernian chief executive Leeann Dempster had attempted to ward off further interest from the Govan outfit by stating any approaches for the player were “unwelcome”.
