Scott, Garcia tied at Honda Classic after wild day
Second-round leader Rickie Fowler had not made a bogey through the first two rounds; he didn’t make a birdie Saturday and shot 74.
The defending champion Padraig Harrington recovered from playing his first two holes in three over par to card a 68 and finish one over par, with his compatriot Shane Lowry a shot behind after adding a 75 to his opening 67.
Scott led by three strokes at 12-under through 14 holes, but hit two balls in the water and quadruple-bogeyed the par-three 15.
They are four shots clear of American Blayne Barber (69).
The Jack Nicklaus-designed course got the better of Rory McIlroy, whose second straight two-over 72 included a triple-bogey six at the par-three fifth and saw him miss the cut with a four-over total of 144. McIlroy, who shot his second consecutive 2-over-par 72 to stand at 4-over par and missed the cut, brusquely refused interview requests.
“So it was a good, solid day, a nice step in the right direction and I am really looking forward to the weekend”.
The 42-year-old American reported chest pains and called for medics shortly after putting-out Friday’s second round at the PGA National course, according to the official PGA website. He just needs to step back, work on his swing and everything will be fine before he tees off again.
Bohn was staying in the hospital overnight until more tests today.

Sergio Garcia (-9) – Down by three strokes at one point Saturday, Garcia continued plugging away by scrambling when in trouble and taking advantage of his birdie opportunities.

However, the former Masters champion bounced back with a birdie on the 17th to regain the lead, before Garcia birdied the 18th to leave the good friends tied at the top of the leaderboard.
“I was trying to coax it down there”, Walker said.
LPGA – Lexi Thompson shot an 8-under 64 in the third round of the LPGA Thailand in Chonburi to establish a four-stroke lead over Korean In Gee Chun. He was taken to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.
Asked if he expected it to be a two-man race the rest of the way, Garcia said “Not at all”.
Strong winds from last week’s Cyclone Winston in the South Pacific buffeted the Royal Pines course, and only nine of 75 players shot under-par rounds.
Harrington nabbed seven birdies to offset three bogeys and a double bogey. “Rickie is playing really, really well so I am going to have to play extremely well to keep up with him and hopefully we’ll have a good chance on Sunday”.
