Cruz alluded to Republican Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval’s successful push to raise taxes in the state when he panned “campaign conservatism” and vowed to carry through an uncompromising agenda if elected.
The Basque fry, which will be held at the bucolic Corley Ranch in Douglas County, is the brainchild of State Attorney General Adam Laxalt.
With a field of 17 candidates, this early in the game it is hard to find a standout in the crowd. Everybody has at least one person that they can get behind.
“Nevada comes fourth in the nation in the presidential contest, right after the Iowa caucuses, and the New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries”, Laxalt told Newsmax.
Laxalt says the $35-per-person barbecue isn’t a fundraiser and aims to give everyday voters a chance to talk with candidates.
“Winning Nevada would be a great momentum for this long slog”.

A swing state, Nevada went for Barack Obama in the past two presidential cycles but swept Republicans into all key state elected posts in 2014.

If nothing else, the Basque Fry charged up Nevada Republicans and got them ready for the political season.
“It’s clear that all of the Republican candidates would be a disaster for the middle class”, the party said in a news release. “Because that is how, again, democracy works”, said Dike-Anukam.
