Scott Weiland Says Classic Guns N’ Roses Lineup Will Reunite
Slash’s ex-wife, kind of put the kibosh on everything. He’s since released albums with Slash’s Snakepit, Velvet Revolver and as a solo musician; most recently, “World On Fire’ in 2014”.
Rumors of a reunion of the original lineup, or the Use Your Illusions era, of Guns N’ Roses have surfaced after Slash revealed that he and Axl Rose had settled their longtime feud.
The rocker didn’t go into details about why Perla was so against a get together, but he now fears a reunion is highly unlikely – and he fully expects his Velvet Revolver bandmates Slash, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan to hit the road with Axl Rose as part of a Guns N’ Roses spectacular before their supergroup tours again.
Whether all of this is true is remained to be seen as Weiland declined to further comment on the possible Guns N’ Roses reunion.
Slash wasn’t the only one who fought with GNR’s singer.
Do you buy Scott’s latest Velvet Revolver excuse? “I heard the most unbelievable rumor this week, from a very well-informed heavy hitter in the Australian music industry”, the promoter said.
He also says that Chester Bennington has left Stone Temple Pilots and that the future of the band is in serious question.
Or his thoughts on Guns N’ Roses reuniting? “There was a little going back and forth between the two of us at the time”. “I think Slash is actually a bigger star right now than Axl”.
Latest speculation over a GN’R reunion began to bubble up after guitarists DJ Ashba and Bumblefoot made their exit from the group earlier this year.
Giving this whole story an extra weird twist is Highly Suspect vocalist Johnny Stevens stating on Twitter that STP guitarist Dean DeLeo tried to recruit him to join the band over the summer.
