Scratching noise in woman’s ear was caused by spider weaving web
A woman who complained of pains in her ear was shocked to find that the pain was coming from a tiny spider that had burrowed inside of her ear canal, according to the Huffington Post.
Li admitted she had delayed going to see medics because she feared the scratching sounds, which only she could hear, may be due to the fact she had been possessed by evil spirits. She even said, “I even went to a temple to pray but it didn’t help”, according to News.
The creature had been sitting on Li’s ear drum and creating a web in her ear canal, FOX News reports. She also experienced periodical bouts of sharp pain in the affected area.
But it wasn’t until she visited a doctor at the Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine that she discovered what was actually plaguing her. As it turns out, there was a spider living in her ear. And now I do not ever want to know what a spider “reacting violently” in my ear feels like. The spider, Li believes, got into her ear when she was hiking with her boyfriend.
Meng’s doctors then chose to use a few medical ear drops to help subdue the disturbed spider and eventually remove it. According to Chen Zhaoyue, one of the doctors who performed the procedure, getting an insect inside your ear is not unusual.
A fascinating tour of a hidden, miniature world of everyday illnesses, that may well make your skin crawl.
