‘Scream’ producer reveals 3 things to expect from MTV’s new reboot
Tell that to MTV.
Now, Noah is quick to point out that, despite the litany of great horror television shows on the airwaves right now, slasher flicks have not been a subset yet adapted because, by the nature of the thing, the cast is quickly whittled down throughout the movie. There were four of those movies, spanning 1996 to 2011.
MTV’s television adaptation of Scream isn’t shy about its origins. It’s expected to air 10 episodes for the first season. The new Scream has figured out the rules of horror TV and it’s following them. And let me tell you, the movie is especially scary when you’re watching it unfold from a dark, quiet house (at the end of a dead-end street – no lie) and you’re all alone.
On tonight’s episode per the MTV synopsis “in the premiere, the kill of a high-school student in the small town of Lakewood conjures memories of a similar kill that occurred 20 years earlier in the community”. Yet the real trick will be teasing out the suspense as the number of viable suspects gradually dwindles, as well as making the audience see these characters as more than just chum. As you follow the thriller throughout the series, don’t get too attached to some of the characters because your favorites are likely to die… Killing off Thorne might seem a bit of a shocker to newcomers to the “Scream” franchise but veteran fans of the “Scream” films will identify this as a notable tribute to the very first film. Regardless, Scream certainly wants to remind you of the original movie.

“Usually, I do not jump for horror, because lots of times it’s pretty risque”. “Things are going to go down”, the creator says. It was an event movie for me – and a damn cool one. The show will play on new social mediums, such as YouTube and Snapchat, and how it serves as a tool for teens to bully and attack each other, but also how it informs the killer.
The first hour of Scream is an efficient fright-delivery system wrapped inside a teen drama, whose meta-commentary makes it worthwhile – as does the pilot’s promise to spread out the scares more slowly. “Those are all elements in this script”. Brooke may be copying Aria from PLL by having a fling with her teacher but that’s not stopping her from getting closer to the new mysterious guy in town, Kieran.
According to Buzzfeed, the now iconic “Ghostface” mask was found by happenstance during a location scout. There’s teases of danger for numerous other characters, but for now they live on just to be picked off one by one.
