SDCC: First Trailer Arrives For FX’s Legion
It’s been a pretty busy San Diego Comic-Con this year, and a lot of new information has been announced for films, games, and TV shows.
“Downton Abbey’s” Dan Stevens stars as David Haller, who in Marvel comics is the mutant son of Charles Xavier. After half a lifetime of going in and out of hospitals, he starts to realize that the voices in his head might be real. And FX’s John Landgraf shot down thoughts of a crossover between the films and the TV show by saying that this series doesn’t fit the continuity of the X-Men movies. I wouldn’t see characters moving back and forth because they really are parallel universes.
Legion is a new drama that follows the Marvel superhero Legion-also known as David Haller, a troubled man who was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Legion is the latest project from Hawley and Cameron, two of the Executive Producers of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning FX limited series Fargo. While in a psychiatric hospital, though, David has a freaky experience that helps him realize that he’s not mentally ill at all, but a highly gifted mutant. But after a odd encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real. The first season will feature eight episodes and debuts in early 2017 on FX.
