Seahawks activate TE Jimmy Graham, another step in recovery
After being the focal point of a high-octane offense in New Orleans, Graham endured a hot-and-cold first season in the Pacific Northwest.
Except this time, Graham was wearing his helmet, too.
Graham’s injury happened as he attempted to pull in a pass in the end zone during Seattle’s victory over the Steelers. Some games he mostly disappeared.
After Tuesday’s practice Graham was on the practice field at the VMAC going through what appeared to be a rather extensive workout with team trainers, possibly a last step toward being cleared to return.
Graham had 48 catches for 605 yards and two touchdowns when he was hurt in what was the team’s 11th game of the season. “That’s for sure”, Graham said. If you would like to discuss another topic, look for a relevant article. I’ve always just been athletic and fast. It will be interesting to see if Wilson can keep up that rate of production and if Graham can only add to the quarterback’s success. Carroll has praised Graham’s rehab progress so far, but expect Seattle to err on the side of caution as they ease the tight end back into duty. “I think we both felt it”, Graham said. Reed limped off to the sideline under his own power but was taken to the locker room by cart.
Receiver Doug Baldwin, who had been out the last week after having his Achilles stepped on in practice, was also back on the field Wednesday.
