Seahawks and Packers stay alive in National Football League playoffs
The Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals meet Saturday night in a divisional round playoff game at U of Phoenix Stadium.
The Cardinals had nine sacks and outgained the Packers 381-178.
Aaron Rodgers, after a slow start, and the Packers’ running game turned everything in the visitors’ favor. And Aaron Rodgers had that look on his face, like, “are you kidding me’ as balls sailed long, passes were dropped and the Redskins led, 11-0”.
But all four wild cards should be brimming with confidence, even if unlike in the opening round, they aren’t favored by the oddsmakers. They also ran the ball for 101 yards on 3.9 yards per carry as a team. The Cardinals got a lot of guts to handle as they play the Green Bay Packers on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 5:15pm channel 5.
The Packers’ offense came alive against the Washington Redskins last week. I take the blame for that we’ve got to be better. Green Bay outscored Washington 35-7 after falling behind 11-0. Will the Packers be good enough to march into Arizona and steal one? Eddie Lacy gained 63 yards with a TD; James Starks rushed for 53 and a TD; and Randall Cobb added 24 yards.
Of course, smiles have been few and far between for the Packers lately, but Rodgers and his teammates were grinning Sunday as the offense, missing in action for the previous 10 games, made a dramatic reappearance just in time for the playoffs. His price is still fairly high: Rodgers costs more than Carson Palmer at DraftKings and is only $300 cheaper than Tom Brady at FanDuel.
-Offensive coordinator/line coach Harold Goodwin interviewed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ head coaching job last Friday.
“He’s extremely excited and raring to go”, Arians said of his quarterback. The team is ranked fifth in the league in total defense and the Packers must do something about linebacker Calais Campbell. We can’t have the big plays, particularly the sacks go against us. “Good adjustments on the sideline, good adjustments by players and coaches”, Packers Coach Mike McCarthy. “It hasn’t been discussed at all”, said Cousins, 29 for 46 for 329 yards with one throwing TD and one lost fumble. “Nothing against the guys that I’ve played with, but I never had an All-Pro D-tackle, and he’s an All-Pro guy. Don’t know a whole lot about it. So we’ll see how it goes”. Josh Mauro and Markus Golden are questionable.
It’s made possible starting with the offensive line, whose top priority is to protect Rodgers.
-Punter Drew Butler is the weak link on special teams.
Sure have – unlike the Redskins, last-place finishers six of the past eight seasons.
Given what he accomplished in the second half of the season – including leading the team to the NFC East title, Washington’s first postseason appearance in three years while setting a franchise record for passing yards – it would seem the Redskins may have to open their purses.
