Seahawks bring back Christine Michael to help ailing backfield
The Seahawks may look to sign one more running back for depth. Lynch continues to rehab off site, and Carroll couldn’t confirm that Lynch would be able to return this season, though he did say the Seahawks hope to get Lynch back at some point, particularly should Seattle progress through the playoffs.
The move was speculated Tuesday after Michael was put on waivers by the Washington Redskins and the Seahawks released DuJuan Harris. For that kind of upside, they should both be owned, but until we get a better idea of how the carries will be divided (fullback Derrick Coleman will also be in the mix, per Carroll), neither can be trusted in your starting lineup. The familiarity and the background that he has gives him a chance to help us.
Seattle’s top pick in the 2013 draft out of Texas A&M (No. 62 overall), Michael teased fans and coaches with his athletic ability, but never showed enough consistency to warrant much playing time behind Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin. Michael had 52 carries for 254 yards in his two seasons with Seattle. “He seems very serious, wants to do something with this opportunity”.
“We visited with him today about that, what our expectations are, and I think he’s pretty clear what we’re looking for”, Carroll said.
Eliminated team Cleveland Browns (3-10) will visit streaking squad Seattle Seahawks (8-5) at the CenturyLink Field this Sunday for a Week 15 matchup in the 2015 National Football League season.
Fred Jackson will probably be the change-of-pace back behind Brown.
