Seahawks’ Christine Michael: Leads the Seahawks backfield in touches
Maybe not next week, either.
Marshawn Lynch will not return to practice for the Seattle Seahawks this week, coach Pete Carroll said during his weekly Monday radio show on ESPN 710 Seattle.
As for Lynch, Carroll was told that “he’s making good process” with trainers in the Bay Area, but won’t practice this week or be ready for Sunday.
The Seahawks signed Michael – their former second-round draft pick whom they’d traded to Dallas earlier this season – last week to shore up the running game. He was the leading carrier Sunday against the Browns with 16 totes for 84 yards. And it may be his last one in the NFL.
“He hasn’t been in a fight for such a long time”, Carroll said.
But he won’t committ to Michael as the new lead back.
Brown said he was nervous and anxious before Sunday’s game, his first in a real game in a year since Buffalo in the preseason and then Seattle in November released him. Brown carried nine times for 43 yards in his only action of the season, while Derrick Coleman had 10 yards on five carries. Michael was also used late in the game, while the team was trying to run the clock out. In his place, expect to see Alvin Bailey lining up at left tackle if Okung can not play this week vs. St. Louis.
