Seahawks fan starts petition to ban Cam Newton from CenturyLink Field
Cam Newton has been the quarterback for the Panthers for five seasons now, and it’s been an up and down ride for the former number one overall pick. I think it is only fitting that Seattle Seahawks fans are ineligible to enter the CenturyLink field for the 2016-17 season.
Tilton’s petition had more than 1,000 supporters as of 1 p.m. CT, largely consisting of Seahawks fans.
First of all there is no way this would ever happen, but this Seahawks fan is completely wrong.
But Andrew Tilton, of Seattle, doesn’t care for Newton or his “unprofessional” and “unsportsmanlike” ways, so he started a petition to ban him from CenturyLink Field.
The reasons stated range from Newton being “unsportsmanlike” to the notion that he “dislikes Washington as a whole anyways”.
Eventually Newton realized what was happening behind him, where he went to help cooler heads prevail. In the latter, Newton post-game took a “12th Man” flag out of the stands and chucked it while celebrating.
The Panthers are scheduled to meet the Seahawks in Seattle next year.
The Panthers will head to California next week, where they will face the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.
Though it is still relatively early in Newton’s career, the five-year veteran’s explosion in 2015 has earned him significant attention from the media, and in turn, has allowed others to draw comparisons between him and Hall of Fame quarterback and now National Football League analyst Steve Young.
