Seahawks QB Russell Wilson picked 1st in Pro Bowl Draft

Trufant is coming off his best season as a pro and will get to experience his first Pro Bowl with his three Falcons teammates. They will be assisted by team captains Geno Atkins, Odell Beckham Jr., Aaron Donald and Devonta Freeman. The quarterback was asked if they have any special plays in the works. “It should be that man”, Irvin said (via CBS Sports).

Irvin also drafted every single Cowboys player available, which wasn’t a complete surprise because that seems to be his plan every year.

Colts fans watching Sunday’s Pro Bowl won’t have to have split allegiances. Irvin went with Wilson first while Rice countered with New York Giants QB Eli Manning.

The two-hour selection process will be held at Wheeler Army Airfield in Wahiawa, Hawaii, on Wednesday night, less than 20 miles from Sunday’s matchup at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu between Team Rice and Team Irvin. Two years ago Rice won after the National Football League changed up the old format that pitted the NFC against the AFC, and Irvin would win the following year. Team Rice is 1-0 in coaching the Pro Bowl, as he beat Team Sanders in 2011. He was selected in 2012 and 2013, which he missed due to the Super Bowl and his knee injury, respectively.

It is a joke that Woodson, one of the greatest of all-time, was selected last in his final Pro Bowl.

“It was about being my last time, but it was about my family and us being able to take this trip together”, Woodson said. The game was played in Miami in 2010.

By playing with Zack Martin, Travis Frederick and Tyron Smith in the Pro Bowl, Russell Wilson might feel a bit spoiled to have so much protection that he has time to make even bigger plays, something which might cause him to have a long and serious discussion with Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll.

Team Irvin selected Falcons receiver Julio Jones with its second pick today.
