Seahawks re-sign Bryce Brown, to place Thomas Rawls on the IR
Running back Thomas Rawls #34 of the Seattle Seahawks sits on the field injured against the Baltimore Ravens in the first quarter at M&T Bank Stadium on December 13, 2015. Not efficient (only 3.4 yards per carry), but they still rushed for 123 yards, and it’ll be interesting to see whether Lynch suddenly comes back from his abdomen injury now that Rawls isn’t going to play anymore this season. After Rawls left Sunday’s game during the first quarter, Harris managed 42 yards on 18 carries for the day.
Seattle Seahawks running back DuJuan Harris filled in for injured running back Thomas Rawls in Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
But neither was needed on Sunday as the Seahawks improved to 8-5 on the season with a 35-6 win that saw in-form quarterback Russell Wilson throw five touchdowns.
Running backs without jobs tend to be that way for reasons.
“I can’t start it without talking about the offensive line”, coach Pete Carroll said.
Baltimore has clinched its first losing season since Harbaugh took over in 2008.
Brown, a fourth-year veteran out of Kansas State, had 36 carries for 126 yards last season in seven games with the Buffalo Bills.
Seattle also waived running back DuJuan Harris, wide receiver B.J. Daniels and safety Akeem Davis. His fumble on Sunday hurts his stock right now, but he can still get some yards for this Seahawks team that is showcasing an efficient passing game. Seattle entered many of their backups at that point as the Ravens looked defeated.
Harbaugh says, “We’re going through a painful, tough season….”
While the Ravens might not be the best indicator of a competent offense considering all their injuries, it seems the Seattle defense is getting stops again, holding the Ravens and Vikings to a combined 13 points in the last two games.
Marshawn Lynch is not back practicing yet and is doing his rehabilitation from abdominal surgery away from the team.
Though evidently still not ready for prime time, the Seattle Seahawks are definitely looking more like defending NFC champions. “Obviously, everything doesn’t happen initially as you would like it. And we just keep at it. Keep on maintaining, pushing, chopping wood and we understand that it will eventually come through for us”.
Over that five-game stretch, Baldwin has 30 catches for 515 yards and nine touchdowns.
More importantly, his play is fueling aspirations for the Seahawks’ third consecutive Super Bowl run.
There isn’t a hotter fantasy football player right now than Wilson. “He has really been a great asset to us this year and we love the way he has played”.
Wilson has also tied his season-high for touchdowns with 26.
Seahawks and their fans will find out as they enter the final three weeks of the regular season. That won’t put him as the Ravens number one receiver in 2016, but it will make him a possession receiver, something the Ravens haven’t really had since Anquan Boldin left for San Francisco.
“Two totally different game plans, but going up against their defense was like a conference game, seeing the same team twice”, Clausen said.
