Search resumes for ex-NFL receiver missing on Texas lake
Authorities do not believe the 37-year-old man was wearing a life preserver, he said. Nobody else fell into the water. Search teams from the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, Wylie Fire Department, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas Game Wardens all assisted in the search. Dawson dove into the water without a lifejacket, but never resurfaced. He played parts of four National Football League seasons, two with the Browns, one with the Houston Texans and one with the Indianapolis Colts. He made 52 receptions, 664 yards and two touchdowns. His time there included a ideal season in 1998. Dawson began his career in the medical industry in 2005, a year after his retirement.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he’s worked as a senior sales representative for Boston Scientific, located in Irving.
Rescue teams are searching for JaJuan Dawson, who played for H.L. Bourgeois High School in Terrebonne Parish and went on to star at Tulane University.
