Secret’s Out: Beyoncé Is Vogue’s September Cover Star
The Beyonce cover also marks a positive step in the direction of improving diversity of models and cover stars in the fashion world as the remainder of September issues feature predominately white women. The influential issue was also the subject of a 2009 documentary showing the behind-the-scenes drama following Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her staff during the production of the September 2007 edition.
The cover has not been released officially yet, but it was reportedly leaked online by a fan. Check it out. The cover reads, “Just B: Beyoncé and the Art of Global Domination”.
The September cover of Vogue hits newsstands nationwide August. 25.
The September issue of Vogue is widely-regarded to be its biggest of the year, with the most pages and the most adverts, and fans always face an anxious wait to find out which superstar will make the cover.
Adding to the sultry nature of the shot – which accompanies a cover story in which Pulitzer-prize winning cultural critic Margo Jefferson talks about the singer’s unbeatable reign – the star goes completely underwear-free.
Christopher Michael Shellis, owner of House of Borgezie and creator of the fab shoes, told Birmingham Mail, “I’ve been told the stilettos are for her next video which should be out in the autumn”.
One of the lovely images shows the curvaceous beauty from behind, wearing an open-weave black dress, the dainty spider web-style fabric allowing her smooth skin to be fully seen.
