Secret Service Agent Slams Photographer to Ground at Trump Rally
In a later clip provided by CBS reporter Jacqueline Alemany, the reporter is seen placing his hand on the Secret Service agent’s throat, apparently demonstrating what the Secret Service agent had to allegedly done to him earlier.
Time magazine photographer Chris Morris told CNN that as he tried to exit the media pen, a Secret Service agent began choking him.
The Trump campaign said in a statement, “We are not aware of all details surrounding the incident and all future inquiries should be directed to local law enforcement”.
Donald Trump has gone on the record saying that if he’s elected it’ll be open season on the press, and during a rally on Monday afternoon, Trump’s Secret Service detail offered a glimpse into how that might play out.
The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday.
One bystander described the movement by the security official as a “choke slam” when he threw Morris to the ground. Morris has also expressed remorse for his part in escalating the confrontation. The agent then choke-slammed the photographer.
Perticone wrote alongside the clip: “The reporter says ‘f*ck you” – that’s when it got physical’.
As a group of about 30-40 Black Lives Matter protesters repeatedly interrupted Trump’s remarks, chanting, “No more hate, no more hate, let’s be equal let’s be great”. “He just got on television, he’s happy”, Trump said as a protester was taken out of the rally.
The billionaire real estate mogul had waited for the various protesters to be removed from the hall, saying: ‘Folks, you’re going to hear it once: All lives matter’. We’ve gotta unify our country, we’ve gotta unify our country, ‘ he said.
