Secret Service to Start Looking After Carson and Trump
“I know this: If I was a Democrat, they’d have it”.
Donald Trump and Dr. Ben Carson will enjoy a “gold standard” of protection now that they have been approved for Secret Service guard, Ronald Kessler, author of “The First Family Detail: Secret Service Agents Reveal the Hidden Lives of the Presidents”, tells Newsmax TV.
Early last week, GOP front runner Donald Trump noted that he was shocked that he had not yet been afforded a security detail from the Secret Service.
Carson in particular has come under threat.
As a former First Lady, Clinton has had a few level of federal protection since her husband Bill first ran for President in 1992.
According to the Secret Service, the Department of Homeland Security determines which candidates receive protection. “They don’t give a sh*t”, Trump laughed.
The threats to the retired pediatric neurosurgeon have been “off the charts”, the source said. Carson, who like Trump has never held elected office, has enjoyed a recent surge in popularity and attendance at his events has continued to rise.
“The Secret Service has tremendous resources, backups, training, and they get instantaneous intelligence from other agencies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation”, Kessler, a veteran journalist, said Monday to J.D. Hayworth on “Newsmax Prime”.
“It is widely believed ISIS would like to strike a major political target in the U.S.”
“There’s mobs of people, and the energy, it’s incredible”, Eric Trump said commenting on his father’s security.
Trump has publicly complained by his lack of Secret Service protection.
In July, shortly after Mr. Trump criticized the Mexican government for the escape of drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman from a maximum-security prison, a Twitter account linked to Guzman issued a threat against the billionaire: “Keep f-king around and I’m gonna make you swallow your whore words you f-king whitey milks-tter”.
Trump’s son Eric, a top member of his father’s business empire, told Fox and Friends that his father deserves Secret Service protection. “But I would think they should be very proactive and want protection for somebody like me that has 20,000 people at any time”.
