Security Guard Chokes Panthers Fan
“I didn’t do anything!” a Chapel Hill man at a Carolina Panthers game screams in a disturbing video that is going viral.
It’s unclear what led to the confrontation between the fan and the security guard, but no matter what the fan did to draw the attention of security, that chokehold is more than a little over line.
The incident was between the guard and a Carolina fan during the game, won by the Panthers. Via social media comments, a few fans claimed they witnessed Small being disruptive at the game.
The complaint is being investigated as a Class A misdemeanor, said Lt. Christopher Cook, an Arlington police spokesman.
He said that near the end of the game, security guards told him a complaint had been filed. At one point, it looks like the Panthers fan may briefly lose consciousness. “I would really love an apology from the Dallas Cowboys organization, and I would say that’s the very least I would accept”.
In a Facebook post, Small said that his experience was enjoyable until the last five minutes of the game. Though the videos don’t capture what happened before the confrontation ensued, Hines insists Small had only been cheering for his team. The police report was unavailable Tuesday.
Fans at Jerry World keep security there busy; according to the Star-Telegram, 30 fans had been arrested by Arlington police through Week 11 of this season and 106 were arrested at the 80,000-seat stadium in 2014.
The Arlington Police Department hasn’t released any information about the investigation or provided a timetable for when it will decide whether to bring charges in the case.
