Security heightened up in Valley ahead of Republic Day
Elaborate security measures have been put in place across the country for the 67th Republic Day celebrations tomorrow.

The day is being marked with a complete strike in occupied Kashmir.

“Several known troublemakers, suspect people have been taken into preventive custody”, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Uttam Chand said.
Police and paramilitary CRPF personnel have been deployed in Srinagar and at entry points to the summer capital of the state, police said, adding that barricades have been erected for carrying out random searches of vehicles entering the city. Dog and bomb squads have been deployed at vulnerable spots across the two states.
In Kolkata, protection continues to be elevated at Kalighat temple, Victoria Funeral, and other legendary buildings in addition to at structures housing government and low governmental practices, departmental stores, etc.
CCTV cameras have also been installed at all sensitive locations in Srinagar and Jammu.
“On 26th January when Indian Govt.is observing the way as Republic Day, the same day is a Black day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as the Indian Govt. has deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir from the freedom and democratic rights past 68 years”, the statement said.
