See First Photo of Natalie Portman as Jacqueline Kennedy
Hit the jump to see the full Natalie Portman Jackie Kennedy photo. She exudes grace, beauty and brains-that is why she will definitely give justice to her portrayal of Jacquelyn Onassis Kennedy.
The Oscar-winning actress’ upcoming role in the much-anticipated Jackie Kennedy biopic, Jackie, was first announced in May, and now there’s visual proof, courtesy of Getty Images and director Pablo Larrain.
Producer Darren Aronofsky previously worked with Portman on the 2010 Black Swan.
The film was originally conceived as an HBO mini-series and covers the four days between J.F.K.’s assassination and his burial, with the intention of showing Jackie at both her most vulnerable and her most graceful. She was still using her maiden name then.
Jezebel reports that the former first lady had a reputation for being well dressed, and counted Givenchy, Chanel, Balenciaga and Dior among her favorite designers.
Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, and John Hurt co-star in the movie, which is now shooting. The subject was last memorably considered in Lee Daniels’ superb The Butler, but not with this kind of concentration, and Jackie has the added benefit of being the first English-language film to be directed by the immensely talented Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larrain.
