Select winners at the Grammy Awards
Several artists native to Alabama will be representing the state at the Grammys Monday night. “Don’t Wanna Fight” and “Sound & Color” also were nominated in those categories, respectively.
Birmingham entertainment analyst and attorney Michael Clarke from Second Row Law said that the Shakes have a new sound that could produce them a few awards tonight.
“As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or try to take credit for your accomplishments or your fame”, Swift said.
The 27-year-old singer and the rest of the group – Zac Cockrell, Heath Fogg, Steve Johnson, and Ben Tanner – performed their song “Don’t Wanna Fight” for the crowd.

Denying Alabama Shakes their Rock sweep is Muse, whose Drones won the Grammy for Best Rock Album. The album is a Southern rock anthem released on April 21 with most of its roots deep in rock “n” roll, garage rock and soul music.
