Selena Gomez Admits That Internet Fat-Shamers Inspired New Album ‘Revival’
“Hotel Transylvania 2 was produced for $80 million and should do well internationally given that the first picture did almost 60% of its business overseas”.
Further out, Snoopy starrer “The Peanuts Movie” and then Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur” are due at opposite ends of November. It was just a series of lightweight jokes in a movie that’s main plus was proving Adam Sandler should be heard and not seen. In this mildly amusing sequel to 2012’s “Hotel Transylvania“, slacker human Jonathan (Andy Samberg) is marrying his vampire love, Mavis (Selena Gomez), bringing together a human and monster guest list that predictably results in silly, if not particularly laugh-aloud shenanigans. While vampa (“vampire” plus “grandpa”) Dracula (Adam Sandler) is thrilled with his first grandson, he’s impatient for the boy’s fangs to descend, something that must happen by age 5.
He and his monster pals aim to relive their ghoulish adolescence by taking Dennis on a supernatural adventure, but find that times have changed since they were young. The scene seemed to be from a monster wedding and all Dracula’s friends were showing off their respective dates. The singer was brutally fat-shamed online for gaining weight earlier this year, and she reveals that all that hate helped inspire her new album, ‘Revival, ‘ which she says is ‘the best thing I’ve ever done’. Mavis starts to think it might be safer to raise Dennis in California.
While on a holiday in Mexico back in April, the starlet seemingly addressed supposed criticism over her weight, as she posted a sultry photo of herself in a one-piece swimsuit and announced that she is happy with herself and that “there’s more to love”. The most terrifying thing is they live in a world where the scariest creatures are lawyers ready to sue if something goes wrong. And, that’s not a ploy to cover over weakly written material. And that bonus is very amusing.
Hotel Transylvania 2 is rated G.
For the most part there’s just a lot of dashing about the hotel’s cavernous hallways as the assembled voice cast (also including Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade and CeeLo Green) attempts to lend some personality to the underdeveloped characters.
“Hotel Transylvania 2” is the kind of high energy, colorful movie that will keep youngsters interested and entertained.
If you enjoy Sandler’s brand of obvious humor and don’t mind noticeable Sony product placements, this inoffensive sequel is, like its predecessor, just enough for a Halloween treat.
