Selfies are actually more deadly than sharks
More people have died this year while taking selfies than from being killed by shark attacks, a shocking new survey has revealed.
His death took the selfie death toll this year to 12, according to Mashable.
A 66-year-old Japanese tourist died recently in India after falling down some stairs while attempting to take a selfie in front of the Taj Mahal. A nude selfie to the wrong person can even get you put behind bars these days. The next leading cause has to do with injuries sustained by being hit or injured by a moving vehicle.
Not on the list is Courtney Sanford, 32, who died in a head-on collision on a North Carolina highway in April 2014, seconds after posting selfies on Facebook.
In January, a 21-year-old woman plummeted to her death in Johannesburg while her climbing partner was sensibly setting up a tripod to take another picture. One man was reportedly killed while trying to take a selfie during the running of the bulls while another was the result of trying to take a selfie while driving. Selfie deaths have become so rife in Russian Federation that the government released a guide detailing how not to die while taking a picture of yourself. The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs handed out pamphlets with the reminder that “a cool selfie could cost you your life”, HNGN previously reported.
The marketing campaign’s motto is: “Even one million “likes” on social media will not be value your life and properly-being”.
