Semaj Christon sizzles in National Basteball Association Summer League – Cincinnati Enquirer
Ex- Mercer men’s basketball standout Daniel Coursey made his 2015 Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League debut yesterday with the Orlando Blue, the top summer league team of the Orlando Magic.
Frank Gaines led the Thunder with 17 points while Christon had 14 points and a game-high 10 assists, offsetting his poor 4-of-15 shooting performance.
With Kevin Durant in the crowd, Oklahoma City began Summer League play in Orlando with a 76-74 win over Charlotte on Saturday.
Mitch McGary, the only current Thunder on the team had 8 points and 13 rebounds.
Christon spent past year playing for the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s D-League team, after being acquired by the franchise in the 2014 National Basteball Association draft.
Nine Thunder players scored, including rookie second-round pick Dakari Johnson, who added four points to go with six rebounds.
Oklahoma City is back in action on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. It plays Memphis at 5 p.m. Thursday and finishes Friday, Championship Day, at a time to be determined.
Stainbrook is also booked for the the Las Vegas Summer League and will play there with Golden State.
Oklahoma City will take the court again Monday at 3 p.m.
