Senior Delhi cop allegedly shoots himself, wife jumps off balcony
An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in his early thirties who was posted with the Special Cell of the Delhi Police allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service revolver in his apartment in Noida Sector-100.
Mr. Singh was a DANIPS (Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli Police Service) officer of the 2010 batch.
His wife too tried to kill herself by jumping from the sixth floor of their apartment.
The incident was reported on Monday evening when Amit’s neighbours called city police on seeing his wife lying right outside the building with serious injuries. He was staying with his wife Sarita Singh and 18-month-old daughter at flat number 403 of Lotus Boulevard Society.
The reason behind the couple taking the extreme step has not been ascertained yet. After he reached the flat, all of a sudden she also jumped from the flat.
UP police said that they have launched an investigation into the case and facts, the case will be solved simultaneously.
Singh was survived by his wife and a two-yr-previous baby.
