Serie A: Mihajlovic unhappy with Balotelli’s fitness

Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano has welcomed the signing of Mario Balotelli as AC Milan look towards building a strike force able to challenge for the Serie A title.

AC Milan had 13 shots to Inter’s 10 but unfortunately for them, Inter’s Fredy Guarin was the only player who put the ball in the back of the net.

The 25-year-old gave his side a new dimension in the final third, changing the game with his directness and constant attacking threat that kept Milan on the front foot, allowing them to take the game to Roberto Mancini’s Inter as they chased an equaliser.

All in all when Milan’s Serb coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic, said afterwards that he was happy, if not with the result, then at least with his team’s performance, it was easy to believe him. If his finishing can improve, his return could be to the benefit and not the detriment of AC Milan.

Balotelli, who rejoined Milan on loan from Liverpool last month, hit the post and went close with a free kick.

Inter have started their Serie A season with wins over Atalanta and promoted Carpi, while Milan beat Empoli last weekend after an opening-day defeat at Fiorentina.

“We have to do better in our next games and I’m sure we will make up for things in the derby”.

Mancini also revealed the Inter’s pursuit of Paulo Dybala and Mario Balotelli and said that Inter are behind Roma, Napoli and Juventus.

“For me it is an honour to wear the shirt of this club, a shirt that has been worn by many great champions in the past”, added Romagnoli. Their passing was more accurate and they were more involved in the play.

Balotelli began his career at Inter under Mancini, followed the coach to Manchester City and, when trouble brewed, he returned to the city but joined Milan for his first spell at the club in January 2013 until June 2014.

“He’s lost about 250 grammes so far, roughly in line with what we had expected”.
