Series of small earthquakes rattles San Francisco Bay Area
A 3.2 magnitude quake occurred near San Ramon this morning. The natural disaster, which was reported at 6:10 a.m., was first classified as having a 3.2-magnitude, but it has since been upgraded, USGS officials said.
The quakes were reported to be felt as far away as Lafayette.
The largest was a magnitude 2.9 that occurred just before 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Within the past week, the USGS has reported 45 total earthquakes in San Ramon or nearby.
A swarm of small earthquakes that have shaken this city this week continued Thursday morning with two more shakers. There are no reports of injuries or damage from either quake.
Southern Kansas experienced almost two dozen earthquakes in the past week, including 10 separate quakes centered in a quarter-section of land five miles southeast of Harper.
