Serious attempts should be made to accomplish Ram Temple: Mohan Bhagwat
RSS, Chief Mohan Bhagwat speaks during the condolence meeting of former VHP President Ashok Singhal. However, the construction of a temple on the disputed site in Ayodhya where a frenzied mob led by senior BJP leaders had demolished a 16th century Babri mosque is neither on the party’s nor on the NDA government’s agendas.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) general secretary Pravin Togadia has called for building of Ram Temple at Ayodhya by passing a law in the Parliament.
The Ram temple issue is presently before the Supreme Court. Mohan Bhagwat (above) wants uniform civil code to be core issue.
The same should be accomplished by working sincerely towards achieving those, he said. “Ashokji’s spirit will guide us in this task”, Bhagwat had said at a condolence meeting for Singhal on Sunday.
BJP veteran Murli Manohar Joshi also shared memories of his relationship with Singhal, saying he was committed to the spread of vedic wisdom and values throughout the world.
“We have to make critical attempts to accomplish the Ram temple and that may be a real tribute to him. If we now have to accomplish the resolve of Ashokji, we’ve got to take a pledge at this time to make his resolve ours”, he added. As a responsible political party, the BJP will follow whatever the apex court says on the issue, the leaders added.
Lauding Singhal, the RSS chief stated that the previous was a real stalwart of Hindutva motion and a guiding drive for all.
VHP leader Praveen Togadia today said that not one but 100 crore people of the country are the successors of Ashok Singhal, a day after Union Minister Uma Bharti reportedly claimed to be “successor” to late VHP leader. “They are fooling even Lord Ram”, Shukla said on Monday, reacting to Bhagwat’s remark.
