Serious backlash brews against Samsung’s insane smart refrigerator
In the year 2016 Samsung has surprised the world with an innovative concept of launching a refrigerator with a giant touchscreen display on one of its doors.
Samsung Electronics ahead of CES 2016, Las Vegas showcased a brand new refrigeration category to the market called Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator.
Samsung also revealed at the end of 2015 that they will be making their Smart TVs fully compatible with IoT – the Internet of Things; via SmartThings.
The new remote from Samsung is able to automatically recognize each device that is connected to the TV, the company says.
No official word on the integration of smart home tech with the remote has come yet, but more information should become available as CES gets underway. This provides users the one tool they need to control their entire home entertainment system, The “Samsung Smart Remote Control”.
The new Smart Hub interface would make a celebrated move away from multiple content sources and devices, shifting to a single integrated content and services platform.
The fridge even has built-in stereo speakers, so you can stream your favourite music or TV programme from your Samsung Smart TV directly to the touchscreen. Typically, they add a few streaming services or maybe upgrade the look of the user interface.
“Applying this technology into current household devices is a major step forwards that will make it much easier for everyone to experience the benefits of a smart home”. Consumers will now be able to switch seamlessly between broadcast content, OTT content, as well as other connected devices, including video game consoles or Blu-ray players.
It’s a trend that Samsung sees getting bigger and bigger but one the company is basing around consumer tastes.
Powered by Tizen, Samsung’s home-grown operating system, the Family Hub refrigerator’s display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. This year, however, Samsung Electronics wants complete control.
