Sessions talked with Russians about Trump campaign
According to officials, however, Sessions did just that and even discussed future relations, under a Trump presidency, between the USA and Russian Federation.
Jay Caruso, who writes for the conservative RedState.com, tweeted: “I am on the verge of publishing something that says it makes sense it was TRUMP people who leaked info on Sessions, not the DEEP STATE”.
The intercepts could present a serious problem for Sessions who has repeatedly denied talking about campaign-related topics with Russian government officials.
Netanyahu’s position increases pressure on Trump to escalate USA military involvement in Syria and possibly move toward war against Iran and even Russian Federation.
After such questions were raised, Sessions announced in March he would recuse himself from the investigation into Russia’s attempted meddling in the campaign.
In light of that, the president’s brutal comments about Attorney General Jeff Sessions are not the most revealing things he said in his interview with the New York Times on Wednesday.
Mr Trump has asked his advisers about his power to pardon people.
The cover-ups, by the AG and the president, were apparently done to downplay the assessment by several USA intelligence agencies that there was collusion between the Trump campaign camp and Russians to make Trump, the Republican candidate, win over rival Hillary Clinton, the Democratic bet.
TRUMP: So Jeff Sessions, Jeff Sessions gave some bad answers. According to the Washington Post, Trump “has told aides he was especially disturbed after learning Mueller would be able to access several years of his tax returns”. Convenient, no? Trump could then direct his new Attorney General to derail Robert Mueller’s efforts to get to the truth behind his relationship with Russian Federation.
Trump can fire Sessions.
“If Mueller’s team can threaten criminal charges against Manafort, they could use that as leverage to convince him to cooperate”, said one of the sources.
Trump has long criticized leaks about the investigation and has urged authorities to prosecute leakers.
Said Brennan: “For someone who knows the art of the deal, I thought it was a very, very bad negotiating tactic”. In agreeing to the meeting, Trump’s oldest son was told he’d be presented with damaging information on his father’s opponent, Hillary Clinton.
Rice has said she did nothing improper.
The president’s unabated fury is all the more perplexing to senators because of Sessions’ distinction as the first senator to endorse him, in February 2016 – a time when many GOP senators and House members were still openly repudiating the candidate who had won the New Hampshire and SC primaries and become the clear front-runner for the party’s nomination.
The Republican president also hinted at possible conflicts of interest involving Mueller, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation director who is popular among Republicans and Democrats.
