Seth Rogen is throwing a Bar Mitzvah for James Franco
Seth Rogen fans probably know that the comedian is best friends with actor and frequent collaborator James Franco.
Well no need to worry because his BFF Seth Rogen is coming to the rescue! The happy simcha will take place at the Hollywood Palladium on October 17, and will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Seth and Lauren set up the organisation after her mother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at age 55.
Tickets to the event, which Rogen said could include a mohel and “a live bris for James”, go on sale on August 11.
Along with his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, he created Hilarity for Charity in 2012 to raise awareness of the disease amongst those in the millennial generation. “You don’t want to miss it”.
There’s been no official word yet on who’s included in the line-up this year, but guests at past shows have included Paul Rudd, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruno Mars, Jack Black, Samuel L. Jackson and Nick Kroll. “Instead of being disappointed that young people were so misinformed about the reality of the disease, we started to educate them”.
Miller Rogen said that “Five million Americans are now living with the disease and it is the sixth leading cause of death in the US, yet it is the least funded and the only one with no treatment whatsoever”.
Knowing Rogen and Franco, this bar mitzvah will have all the regular staples: boozing, man-child hora dancing, and lots of people sneaking out the back for a puff.
