Seven ESPN Analysts Pick Birds to win Superbowl — Eagles News
Just don’t let what we say here change the way you feel about the upcoming season, because, honestly, we can’t predict the future. “You have to come back and learn from your mistakes and get better”. Two straight late-season collapses have cost the Fins possible playoff spots. For Kelly, in his third season as Eagles coach, this is a season of reckoning. Circle December. 13 as the date he’ll return to Philadelphia for the game against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. If he were to hold out the entire season AND if the Packers were at full strength, I would probably pick Green Bay to at least win the NFC.
The decision to drop the traditional Roman numerals was described by the National Football League as a way to “elevate and celebrate the historic” 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl. With the ball at the New England Patriots one-yard line, the Seattle Seahawks decided to throw the ball instead of hand it off to one of the best running backs in the game, Marshawn Lynch. There was a curse for a while of Super Bowl losers not making it back to the Playoffs, but that’s been broken plenty in recent years.
More money has been bet on the Seattle Seahawks to win the Super Bowl than any other team at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. The Seahawks were up by 10 in the fourth quarter.
“Much improved. Much improved on everything“, Belichick said. The guy can coach.
Any team with Drew Brees at quarterback has a chance, but taking away his favorite weapon in TE Jimmy Graham has to sting. – “L” is being left out of this Super Bowl. That’s our job. We’ve got to eliminate the big plays. Not according to Seattle’s coaching staff, and while that doesn’t mean the Patriots couldn’t have prepared for it, or recognized some formational tell, it does make you stop and think for a second.
The festivities featured a focus on the two Bay Area teams. It opens the door to more conscious and subconscious doubt from the athletes. It has mainly to do with the offensive lines; Denver’s is in a state of flux, while the Ravens’ is intact. Clearly though, there has some work to be done after getting blown out in the AFC Championship game past year. Certainly Seattle ran off six wins without him to close out the 2014 regular season, but that was against sub-par competition.
4) The Seahawks won’t get lucky in 2015. If healthy, he will be a factor with a Texans team seeking their first playoff berth since the 2012 season. No way. Teddy Bridgewater had a strong rookie season and only should get better now that Adrian Peterson has returned from suspension.
Can the Packers overcome one of the most agonizing and improbable defeats in their storied history to get where they thought they were headed last season?
6) The injury bug will hit.
No position requires more time and tutelage than quarterback.
7) The vibe is gone. Kam Chancellor holding out. It seems that this will be the formula the team should take in the future. Most of the pieces are still there, to be sure.
New England wasn’t the only team to realize it needed to shape up its rushing attack. It’s not this franchise, not what’s made it tick. Both figure to struggle as rookies with bad teams.
8) The NFC West is coming. They play a lot of potentially good teams – the Cardinals, Dolphins and Saints to name a few – but avoid some of the league’s best, like the Seahawks, Broncos, Packers and Colts. And now they are down to 17-2.
Or maybe they won’t be.
Starting with the NFC East, it’s hard to see the Eagles losing more than two of those games. New coach Jim Tomsula needs QB Colin Kaepernick to take the next step and become a consistent star. Things are going to go a lot better for the team this year, as Gary Kubiak is going to institute a more run-heavy offense that will make the team less reliant on Manning’s arm, saving him for later in the year.
Palmer is the real deal. And frankly, Nick Foles has the chance to pass Wilson. They totally disagreed with my assertion that the Malcolm Butler interception was an act of God. Unfortunately, they are working with bottom-level talent, and the Bears may not win five games. That actually nearly happened, but the Browns were able to play the “Johnny Manziel needs privacy” card to back out of it. They went first and second in the draft and their careers will be compared for years to come.
And no Spygate or Deflategate excuses could explain this one away. I hope I’m wrong.
