Seven policemen killed, six injured in Jharkhand landmine blast
The attackers set off a powerful landmine blast before opening fire on the convoy, which was on an anti-Maoist operation in the forests of Jharkhand state yesterday.
Commandant of 134 Battalion of CRPF S K Linda said the IED went off when the vehicle carrying the personnel drove over the IED. “Role of Nitesh, Ajay and Mithilesh squad of CPI (Maoist) is being suspected in the attack”, said ADG (Operations) and Jharkhand Police Spokesperson SN Pradhan.

A villager on Thursday shows wire connected with the landmine near the wreckage of Police vehicle in Chattarpur area of Palamu. The encounter took place when joint paramilitary forces of the state police patrolling in the area and confronted with an armed Maoist squad.
Palamu DIG Saket Kumar Singh along with other top police officers have rushed to the spot.
