Several Australian Schools in Lockdown Over Bomb Threats
Schools across Sydney and Melbourne have been locked down or evacuated after threats were phoned in, NSW and Victoria Police have confirmed.
The news first broke in Sydney with reports on Friday morning threats had been made to schools in Woolooware and Ulladulla, south of Sydney, Richmond and Penrith in the city’s west and Mona Vale on the northern beaches.
Hundreds of students in two states have been evacuated after their primary and high schools received threats.
“Police are aware of numerous threats made to schools in the Metropolitan and Southern Regions”, a police statement said.
A spokesman for Victoria Police said: “We are aware that a number of Victorian schools have received a threatening phone call today”.
A spokesman said: ‘No students are in danger.

“We are okay just evacuated to sharks leagues club.so scary”, posted another student.
At least five NSW schools have reportedly been placed into lockdown following alleged threats received across the state.
Authorities stressed the evacuations were taking place as a “precaution” and urged parents to call their children’s schools if they are concerned.
