‘Several Hurt’ As Train And Truck Collide In LA
The Los Angeles Fire Department said 16 passengers were evacuated after sustaining injuries when the Southern California commuter train struck a truck on the tracks at approximately 10.30am.
A METROLINK train hit a vehicle in Los Angeles’ Sun Valley on Tuesday morning, officials have revealed.
The crash occurred about 10:40am in the 8200 block of San Fernando Road.
At least ten people have been injured after train smashed into a truck on a rail crossing in Los Angeles.
Multiple patients – most with apparently minor injuries – were being treated after a Metrolink crash in Sun Valley on September 6, 2016.
Metrolink says the train was heading south toward Los Angeles at about 20 miles per hour Tuesday when it struck a tractor-trailer on the tracks near Sun Valley.
The train is stopped on the tracks while the fire department determines whether passengers were injured, authorities said.
Passengers who have been taken to hospital have injuries that are not life threatening, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It was not immediately clear how the crash would impact Metrolink service in the area.
