Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Frederick County
The National Weather Service will send a team of experts to reveiw damage Monday morning, said Hansen.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been posted for northwestern New Jersey by the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly.
The sever thunderstorm watch is in effect from 11:15 a.m. until 8 p.m. Also, they should “find shade if possible … and try to spend time in air conditioning”.
The storms are expected to fire in earnest in the afternoon in the interior, moving westward. One was for New Hampshire into Maine, and another was for Kingfield, Maine, south of Carrabassett Valley. Heat indices will be in the mid-90s across central Indiana.
Any storms are expected to hit the eastern part of the state later, after 5 p.m. on Monday. Only isolated storm chances are expected Tuesday and then again Thursday through next weekend. The best chance for severe weather will be north and west of Providence.
Damaging wind is the main threat as a few storms may be capable of producing winds up to 65mph. Showers and stroms are possible into the evening.
Today’s high: the low 80s.
