Two institutions, really. One, the Supreme Court is the lone institution where most Americans still have some faith.
Friday’s developments unfolded a day after Kavanaugh and an accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, testified in an emotional, hours-long hearing that was televised nationwide.
Ford’s account lacks a specific date and location.

After seeing Ford’s powerful testimony, White House aides and allies expressed concern that Kavanaugh, whose nomination already seemed to be teetering, would have difficulty to deliver a strong enough showing to match hers. She told her Democratic colleagues about the letter only this month.

Hours later, the White House released a statement from Trump honoring the Senate’s request: “I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file”.
She said she never told anyone about the attack before – not even her own mom who had called her after seeing the clip on TV, according to the news site.
