Seydou Doumbia returns to CSKA Moscow
Doumbia in action for Roma.
Côte d’Ivoire marksman Seydou Doumbia has returned to his former club CSKA Moscow on loan from Serie A side Roma, the Russian club announced.
With the arrival of Edin Dzeko from Manchester City, the Lupi are looking to offload strikers, with Mattia Destro reportedly in talks with Bologna.
The Ivory Coast global made the opposite switch in January this year, but only managed two goals in 14 appearances for the Stadio Olimpico club.
It took him until his eighth appearance to open his account in Roma colours and struggled to hold down a starting spot as their season began to crumble. A report by Sky Italia suggests there could be an option to buy at the expiry of the loan, as well as an option to simply extend the loan through the end of the season.
Seydou has been included in the squad list for the national league and the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
