SG Malik Monk Commits To Kentucky
Five-star guard Malik Monk picked the Wildcats over other Division 1 schools, including SEC foe Arkansas. “This recruiting wasn’t just coming from me and my staff; this whole group wanted to play together and wants to be one of the best groups ever”.
“When you know, you know”, Malik Monk said via text message. I want to thank my Mother and Brother for being there for me throughout this entire process. I want to thank all my teammates who drive me everyday to be the best I can be on the court, I also want to thank ALL of the coaches who have reruited me over the past 4 years, its really been a great experience. Duke may have the #1 recruiting class according to a few rankings, but with a hobbled Harry Giles; you can’t tell me that Kentucky’s class with 3 top-10 players doesn’t look like the best class. United Kingdom could sign a wildcard if they need one, but have 5 solid commitments like they already have you can practically put a bow on the 2016 class. Great job Calipari. In saying this, I will be continuing my maturation as a student athlete at the University of Kentucky.
For a second consecutive day, John Calipari and the Kenctucky Wildcats have landed a commitment from a top 10 prospect in the Class of 2016. Kentucky has had 16 players taken in the National Basketball Association Draft since 2012.
Portis averaged 15 points and 7.9 rebounds for the Razorbacks, and he even led Arkansas to a 2-2 record against Kentucky while he was there.
That trio joins Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, Va.) forward Sacha Killeya-Jones, ranked No. 31, and Wilbraham & Monson (Wilbraham, Mass.) forward Wenyen Gabriel, ranked No. 23, to form Kentucky’s 2016 class to this point.
