Shadow of Mordor sequel info leaked by United States retailer Target
Warner Bros. has been keeping things under wraps for sometime before officially launching the sequel to 2014’s title.
Players will attempt to dominate Mordor with their own Orc army in the follow up to Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor. Interactive has jumped on board the Middle Earth train and released a proper announcement trailer for the follow up to Shadow of Mordor. The new game is called Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and is scheduled to release on August 22, 2017. According to IGN, the listing mentioned a US$100 Gold Edition that will include two Nemesis Expansions, two story expansions, and a “Gold War Chest”.
“We massively expanded every dimension of the game”, de Plater added.
As it was in Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War looks suitably dark and dire.
Oh, and the Nemesis system is back. Today, a U.S. retailer unintentionally leaked the title’s sequel without any announcement from the Developers. There will also be two “nemesis” expansions include as part of the gold edition, which will whack in a new orc tribe, fortress, and other bits and bobs.
As we can see from the trailer, the story for Shadow of War centers around Talion forging a new ring of power in an effort to take on Sauron and save the world of men. It goes on to say that gamers can experience the Nemesis System while creating personal stories that are unique with the enemies and followers. We should get more nitty-gritty details when Warner debuts some actual in-game footage on March 8. The followers bring new stories of loyalty, revenge, etc to the game, but it’s unknown if this will happen automatically or as a result through branding like in Shadow of Mordor.
The game is also listed for both the PlayStation and Xbox One platforms only as opposed to the first entry in the series, which also had a Steam version.
In this Shadow of Mordor sequel, Talion and his ghost friend named Celebrimbor will be joining forces again to give Mordor another try.
There is now no PC version that is listed on the website, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that there won’t be one that will be released.
