Shah Rukh not part of ‘Ram Lakhan’ remake
Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra is doing quite well at the box office. But I think what affected the Friday and Saturday collections were “the ban” in Rajasthan and MP.
I never said anything for which I should apologize.
Dilwale, released on December 18, stars Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Johnny Lever, Varun Sharma among others in prominent roles.
The business for both films was affected due to protests against their shows in various parts in India. In Surat in south Gujarat for an example, the opening day occupancy across theaters was just 28%. “I will fall in my own eyes if I do that”, Shahrukh said at a media meet to promote his latest film “Dilwale”.
“I do hope that the film will be received well and [people] would be able to watch it. I can tell you, it would be fun to watch Dilwale”.
Despite the negative reviews, the collections of “Dilwale” are much more than “Bajirao Mastani” which proves that the ‘aam jaanta’ is loving the film.
In an official statement by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Dilwale has grossed a whopping Rs. 145 crore worldwide.
While Aamir Khan and SRK’s comments on intolerance issue raked up a huge controversy, Farhan Akhtar chose to stand by his friends…
“Bajirao Mastani” made Rs.12.80 crore on its opening day after releasing in 3,050 screens in India, while it is reported that “Dilwale” made its way into as many as 2,700 screens. The exhibitors filed a case against Eros which was heard in Bombay Sessions Court.
Theatre owners stopped the screening in view of security concerns after Bajrang Dal activists entered the theatres and staged protests yesterday, police said.
