Shahbaz Orders Swift Action To Control Swine Flu
Blood samples have been taken from 50 people in Azerbaijan due to the threat of the deadly H1N1 virus, known as swine flu, the Health Ministry told APA.
Recently, the Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister R S Rathore held a high-level meeting with the district and state department’s officials expressing serious concern on revival of swine flu, and directed them to be vigilant in detection and treatment of the disease.
He said all-out medical facilities should be ensured in the special wards set up for the patients of swine flu in hospitals.
“The Minister directed officials to strengthen the Information Education and Communication (IEC) activities so that people are aware of the disease and its preventive measures”, a senior Health Ministry official said, adding that the availibility of medicines was also reviewed.
Sharif also asked the committee to monitor treatment facilitates in hospitals across the province including Rawalpindi.
According to sources, the total number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Punjab have reached 39.
After the deaths that have been caused by swine flu in Punjab, Sindh government has alerted the province, including Karachi, regarding the disease.
The chief minister said that awareness should be spread among the masses regarding protection from the swine flu virus.
