Shakira Becomes Mom for the Second Time
On 30th January, Friday, Shakira gave birth to her second baby. This global superstar shared her second child with her love of life, boyfriend, Gerard Pique. Milan, the first child of Shakira is now a big brother- that is really exciting for this kid too!
Shakira shared news about giving birth to her second child in twitter. Her tweet read “We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 29 at 9:54pm, in Barcelona.” The tweet read like an update on the website of Shakira. She also tweeted, “The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means ‘defender of mankind’ and ‘warrior.'”
Fans of Shakira can breathe in peace as the tweet stated, “The hospital confirmed that both mother and child are in excellent health.” Amador Bernabéu, the proud grandfather of Gerard, told the reporters, he spoke with on Friday that the baby looks like the father- Gerard. As per him “They’ve told me he looks like Gerard.”
Pique Gerard’s father also gave update about the newborn. He said to Hello! Magazine, “[Their first son] Milan looked like Shakira when he was born, but this one looks more like his father.”
The news of second pregnancy of Shakira, 37, was declared by the international sensation herself in August. She opened up about her second pregnancy while giving an interview to Spanish Cosmopolitan. That time also tweeted, “Yes, we are expecting our second baby!! Thank you all for your well wishes!”
The gender of the baby was revealed by parents of Shakira in the following month. William Mebarak Chadid and Nidia Ripoll said to Hola! magazine, “We’re very happy. She’s having another baby boy — a playmate for Milan,” they told
Shakira and Gerard welcomed their first son in January 2013, and the couple met during the World Cup of 2010.
